HOWTO change  to the Default Dell BIOS Splash Screen.

Looking to revert to the default Dell BIOS splash screen from a custom logo?

Some companies that purchase Dell computer’s use customized BIOS logos that, for example shows their company logo rather than the default Dell company logo.

You may be looking for steps to revert to the default Dell company logo. If you are looking to:

  • You want to rule out something wrong with the custom logo.
  • The company is looking to sell the computer on.
  • You want to set the logo back to the default Dell logo.

Follow the guide below:

  1. Download the latest BIOS update for your particular computer:
    1. Go to the Dell Support site
    2. Type in your Service Tag or Express Service Code. Alternatively, go to product type and select your model.
    3. Go to the Drivers and Downloads drawer.
    4. Ensure that the correct operating system is set.
    5. Select BIOS from the Category drop-down menu.
    6. Download the latest BIOS update to your computer.
    7. Note down the address of where you saved the update to.
  2. Open an elevated command-line window:
    1. Right click on the Start Menu Icon.
    2. Choose the Command Prompt (with Admin rights) or PowerShell Window (with Admin rights) from the power user menu that appears.
  3. Navigate using the command line to the location of the saved BIOS update file:C:\[directory where BIOS is located]\[BIOS update file name].exe
  4. Add the parameter /DellLogo to the end of the address and press the Enter key:C:\[directory where BIOS is located]\[BIOS update file name].exe /DellLogo
  5. This runs the BIOS update and reverts the logo back to the default Dell logo.
